IGCSE Design & Technology Coursework Support

IGCSE D&T is 50% Coursework

The coursework component plays a significant role in the final grade.
Yet many students struggle not with theory, but with how to develop their ideas clearly and systematically.

XP | Edu provides structured, studio-based guidance for IGCSE Design & Technology students.

How We Guide Students Through Their Coursework

CAD Modelling

Students create precise 3D models of their designs using CAD software. This helps them refine their ideas, resolve technical details, and prepare for prototyping.

Prototyping & Portfolio Preparation

Students build prototypes and document their development process clearly. We guide them in presenting their work in a structured portfolio that communicates their design thinking effectively.

Research & Idea Development

Students learn to identify design problems, conduct meaningful research, and develop their ideas through sketching and structured design exploration. This forms the foundation of strong coursework.

Sessions are focused, practical and process-driven.

Why XP | Edu?

XP | Edu is run by a practicing product design consultancy.

We work in Product Design & Engineering daily, and we bring that structured design thinking approach into our studio sessions.

We started this program because we saw a gap between academic coursework requirements and the practical skills students need to develop strong, thoughtful design work.

Our goal is not only to help students complete their coursework well, but to build confidence in:

  • Problem-solving

  • Structured thinking

  • Creative development

  • Practical design execution

Skills that benefit them beyond IGCSE.

When Should Students Start?

Ideally in Year 9 or early Year 10.

  • Starting early allows students to:

  • Explore project directions carefully

  • Avoid rushing development

  • Build stronger portfolios

  • Manage workload with less stress

We also support Year 11 students who need focused guidance to strengthen ongoing coursework.
